I downloaded an app called WeCroak that reminds you several times per day you’re going to die, and it includes a thoughtful quote. Mission: emphasize your mortality—result: debatable. The concept of death is broad and unfathomable for many. But what feeds you? Dancing, hiking, writing? What if aging, illness, or an accident were to prevent you from doing these? That’s something juicy to mull over. Emotionally charged thoughts move us to act. Sometimes we have to lose something to know its actual value — but not always. Inspiration moves you whether you lose something or not. That’s why you need art and dreams. If you do one thing today, get inspired, get moved. Find your passion and let it cloak you in magnificence. Indulge in that which illumines your soul as the stars set fire to the inky desert plains of night.
